About Me and The Gravity Well Podcast
Hi, I’m Jenny Yeremiy — an Albertan, partner, mother, and friend with 25 years of development and liability (asset retirement) experience as a Geophysicist in the Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan Oil and Gas industry.
I grew up in Edmonton and St. Albert, then moved to Calgary in 2000 to join “the patch.” I have drafted energy, environment, and economic policy that puts water and land stewardship laws, regulation, and enforcement front and center.
I am a full-time activist focused on preserving nature and healing relationships with all life here in the home that I love: Alberta, the Bow Bioregion, Treaty 7, and Métis Districts 5 and 6.
I host The Gravity Well podcast to celebrate and share the stories of the people looking out for our home and to empower the Alberta community with the knowledge and skills required to reestablish stability in our communities and ecosystem.

Land Acknowledgement
I acknowledge that we live on the traditional territories of Treaties 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10, the ancestral homelands of diverse First Nations, Métis and Indigenous people whose ancestors have walked this land since time immemorial and whose histories, languages and cultures continue to influence our vibrant communities. We respect the Indigenous peoples of this land, past, present and future, by building ethical relationships in harmony with the Earth and each other.
TGW Collaborators
I am proud to work with the following groups and organizations.
AB Resistance
The Alberta Resistance (ABR) works across all social boundaries to defend the rights of Albertans. We are a fast-growing group of passionate people of all political, social, economical, spiritual and racial backgrounds. ABR is not a political party, nor a constituency association. Join our group of proud Albertans who are concerned with the rapid and demonstrably negative impact of legislation and changes led by your Alberta Government since 2019.
The ABR works across Alberta, daily; equipping fellow Albertans with guidance and support to meet the surging demand for greater transparency in the Alberta Government operations. Promoting inclusion, equality, and an environment efforts that respects human rights and fundamental freedoms. They provide guidance and support to Albertans who are seeking changes in their constituency. Currently, the ABR is supporting my efforts to recall the Calgary-Bow, Member of the Legislative Assembly, and Minister of Education, Demetrios Nicolaides. Should you wish to sign in support or get involved, fill out this Recall Campaign form.
Calgary Climate Hub
The Calgary Climate Hub (CCH) was the first organization I collaborated on a campaign with— calling for a moratorium on logging in the Eastern Slopes. The CCH is a local, registered charity dedicated to educating and actioning climate action in Calgary and Southern Alberta. They understand the place to act is right here at home. They communicate and demonstrate the time to act on climate is now, and that “social justice is climate justice”. The Eastern Slopes logging moratorium campaign has grown into the saveourslopes.ca campaign. Currently, the CCH Eastern Slopes advocacy team is expanding our campaign to include collaborators, specific actions, and recommendations. STAY TUNED for the Save Our Slopes/Calgary Climate Hub collaborator page.
Energy Circle
The Energy Circle has three goals:
To collaborate with experts—connect with leading minds in energy innovation and sustainability;
Drive Change—be at the forefront of shaping energy policies and practices that matter; and
Broaden YOUR impact—work on projects that push the boundaries of what is possible.
Join our group of dedicated professionals committed to driving the energy transition forward from every possible angle. Whether you are an engineer, policy maker, researcher, or advocate, there is a place for you in our circle. The Energy Circle is focused on Alberta and Canada, while keeping an eye on global transition efforts.
I meet with the Energy Circle on Thursdays at 3 pm MST. Additionally, I have participated in a couple of Energy Media webinars: Geoscientist Jenny Yeremiy on Alberta’s Unfunded Oil and Gas Liability Crisis and The Engineer’s Dilemma. At the Energy Circle, we’re not just imagining a better future — we’re building it! You can check out the Energi Show on YouTube daily at 12:15 MST.
For Our Kids
For Our Kids (FOK) Alberta focuses on climate education policies which aim to improve student, community, and environmental outcomes for Alberta and beyond. Our community is a parent-led network of volunteers driven to take climate action for our kids, grandkids, and future generations. Our team believe taking climate action is an essential parenting role.
FOK has branches across Canada with varying foci for the environment and student justice. Some regions offer grassroots climate activism with others aim to hold governments, administrators, and businesses to social and environmental account. Our mission is to build awareness and alignment across our networks. Together, TGW and FOK collaborate on climate policy recommendations, communicating proactively within key decision timelines.
Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature
The Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature (GARN) recognizes that natural communities have the right to exist, maintain, and regenerate their vital cycles. Our members are a diverse network of scientists, attorneys, economists, indigenous leaders, authors, spiritual leaders, business leaders, politicians, actors, homemakers, students, activists: people from all walks of life who are looking to transform our human relationship with our planet. GARN operates globally, with a hub in Canada. I attend GARN’s North American planning and organizing committee, bi-monthly; there I discuss the various ways to support rights of nature with respect to TGW’s Bioregional Organizing Assembly efforts. Join us to support and communicate efforts to stand up and speak out for nature.
Land Lovers | Bow Bioregion Regeneration Network
Land Lovers | Bow Bioregion Regeneration Network is a grassroots organization dedicated to building bioregional governance and organization to regenerate the Bow ecosystem. Founded and led by Colin Smith, our community consists of environmentalists, activists, and concerned citizens who care deeply for the earth and its inhabitants. Making use of community associations across the city, we meet every three weeks to discuss one of the six areas of bioregional organizing:
Watershed and Headwater Protection;
Ecosystem Restoration;
Food Systems;
Community Imagination and Future Building;
Bioregional Regenerative Finance; and
Bioregional Governance
This program is will resume in the fall of 2025.
Polluter Pay Federation
The Polluter Pay Federation (PPF) is a Canadian non-profit dedicated to educating and defending the rights of landowners and Indigenous communities, focused in the Alberta Oil and Gas industry. Comprised of landowners, industry experts, and concerned citizens, the PPF appreciates the need to uphold the polluter pay principle and the orphan program. We work across Alberta, wherever the need to defend the rights of land owners and stewards exists.
I am a board member of the PPF, our board meets monthly and collaborates with several organizations in the fight to uphold regulations, the orphan fund, and the polluter pay principle. Historically, PPF members were responsible for creating the Alberta Liability Disclosure Project (ALDP). The 2021 ALDP_TheBigCleanup report outlined how to uphold the Polluter Pay principle to unlock Alberta’s next great job boom.
Note: the recommendations within the ALDP report were misrepresented by Premier Smith in the March 18, 2025 afternoon session of the legislature.
Wayfound Mental Health Group
Wayfound Mental Health Group is a national center of excellence for timely and effective client-centered mental health care. Wayfound’s focus on caring for members of the community in addition to public safety personnel, military (active and veteran), and other trauma-exposed professionals make us a trusted name in operational stress injury and mental health support.
