Canada is Alberta, Alberta is Canada

Feb 21, 2026 — A rally to reaffirm our place in Canada, titled "Canada is Alberta/Alberta is Canada".

At it, I express the need for dignity and respect in Alberta, the importance of a truthful and accessible public education system and the protection of health and wellbeing. I criticize the current provincial government for actions such as repealing the low heat coal policy, undermining female and trans rights, and dismantling public services. The speaker highlights the economic challenges, including job losses in the fossil fuel industry and blocked clean energy investments. I recount personal experiences of sexism, racism, and corruption within the oil and gas industry, and mention efforts towards separatism. I call for collective action to uphold treaty rights, support public education, and develop clean energy. They encourage participation in recall campaigns against the current government and emphasize the importance of community participation in shaping Alberta's future.
