Water & Energy LIVE in YYC

Markham Hislop and Jenny Yeremiy dual podcast in Montgomery, Calgary

Markham is a Canadian journalist and CEO of Energi.Media, one of Canada’s leading independent news organizations. Thoughtful Energy Journalism currently averages over 6 million views/reads per month, and is celebrating its 18th year. It also has a sizable and growing US audience.

I was introduced to Markham during the run up to the 2023 election. He was my first energy specific interview. Through his work and our continued collaboration through the Energy Circle, I have been exposed to a much more realistic view of Alberta. A view in line with my lived experience in the oil patch as a Geophysicist and liability expert. I have been introduced to and now work with many of the people Markham has interviewed: including Mark Dorin of the Polluter Pay Federation - PPF, Philip Meintzer of The Drill and Dash Report, and, of course, Charlie Angus / The Resistance. Markham introduced Charlie and I.

Markham started the Energy Circle at the same time I began The Gravity Well podcast. We meet online Thursday afternoons at 3 pm MT to discuss all things energy transition, political, and water related. I am very grateful for Markham’s work, his friendship and for his coming to Calgary to host this event with me! Thank you to everyone who participated and welcomed Markham back to town.

Next Event in YYC

Join the Coalition For Responsible Energy (C4RE) and me on Tuesday, May 12 from 7-8:30 pm at the Bowness Seniors’ Centre (6422 35 Ave NW) in Calgary. The Alberta Government is planning to ram the Mature Asset Strategy (MAS) through the legislature—a backroom deal that pushes the cost of oil and gas clean-up from the industry onto taxpayers. Learn more about what MAS is, how it will impact you, and our plan to stop the handout to the oil and gas industry. Let’s take action together!

Meet other campaign volunteers supporting climate action.
